Simple & Fresh: A Century of Traditional Italian Recipes

Product Description
This cookbook is a tribute to and a sharing of my family’s Italian heritage. My grandparents came to America in the 1800s from a small village above Naples. • The cookbook/memoir is very well written and does, indeed, live up to its title of being simple and fresh. Ed Pankonin has written a very usable cookbook devoid of exotic ingredients. He has shown that fine meals can be made from ordinary ingredients you have around the house or can find at low cost in your neighborhood supermarket. Unlike a lot of the cook-book gurus, he does not do overkill on the seasonings or the cooking prep time.

I found that the personal remnicinces add to the warm nature of the writing. The author may be Italian/American but the food is the sort of simple, nutritional meals that the Italian immigrants brought to this country. The traditions follow the food and the family as are well explained in this very entertaining book

I recommend the book to those who wish to learn Italian cooking the way it was and is prepared in real Italian homes as well as to those of Italian descent who can now duplicate mom’s cooking. Bravo, Ed.
