I came across this tea by accident in a grocery store, and it sat in my kitchen for a few weeks until a combination of stressful events led me to drink a cup. It’s much more effective than any other valerian-based tea I’ve tried since, and has the remarkable quality of relieving anxiety and physical tension at the same time. The best quality, however, isn’t the immediate effect. The active ingredients stay in your system for some time, so that the tea is still working to keep you calm and relaxed the next day, without making you groggy or slow. For those of us with stressful jobs, that’s fantastic.
I was surprised to see that it costs about half as much on Amazon as in the grocery store. Great product, great price, I would certainly recommend it to anyone who’s feeling overwhelmed or stressed out.

This is the best tea that I have ever tried for stress. It is a part of my bedtime ritual. The hops gives it a little odd odor, but I can easily overlook it.

Sip this tea and a subtle feeling of relaxation will settle upon you. At first, I thought it was a fluke–a really, really great fluke. But each time I drink this tea, I get mellow. My shoulders relax. I feel better about everything.
I drink lots of tea, and no tea makes me feel this way. I know it’s not just the hot liquid on a cold day.
There should be a warning on the box: “Do not drink this tea and operate heavy equipment or make any major decisions.” My general disposition before drinking the tea is “What the heck?!” My general disposition after drinking a cup of this magical tea is “Whatever.” I also tend to begin drinking the tea while sitting up straight and end up lounging, appendages draped over chair or couch arms.
I’m not saying drinking it will cure all stress in your life, but it sure does tame the tension you may be feeling. At least it does for me. I keep a several boxes in my pantry. I don’t drink it every day, but I like knowing it is there when I need it (kind of like guided meditation CDs).
This is a light, slightly naturally sweet herbal tea. It’s not one of my favorites for taste since I prefer dark teas with more of a presence (I don’t like the taste of green tea either). Hops is one of the many ingredients–that may explain the mellow feeling! I use the tea more for medicinal purposes than for tea-drinking pleasure because the flavor is just too light for my tastes. But that’s a very personal and minor issue given the amazing relaxing benefit I get every time I drink the tea.
Try it! What do you have to lose but some of that pent up stress and all the health problems that follow? And you may just love the taste!

I normally buy this product from my local grocery so there were no surprises. Although Amazon offered much better pricing.

This is one of the best teas to calm your nerves and anxiety. In a fast and crazy work world, this tea really helps you stay calm. This is better than any chemical western medicine.
